The shawl starts by casting on just five little stitches at the bottom point. The lace grows from this point into a delicate border winding its way up both sides of the shawl, framing the garter stitch center. It is topped off with a whimsical little edge worked as an applied border.
If you love the stitch but would prefer a scarf, Niobe (trapezoid) and Cirrhosa (crescent), use all the same stitches as Clematis… with completely different shapes.
