About the shawl: Body (garter section) is worked from the center out, the edging is knit sideways, attaching to the body as you go - Knit all in one piece (no seaming).
Final version of the pattern will include both written and charted instructions, and will accomodate a DK and fingering weight version.
Worried about running out of yarn? Here's a tip for "fudging" the edging a bit You can occasionally connect the edging to two body stitches rather than just one to decrease the number of edging rows you work - just don't do this too often or the body/edging "seam" will pull in.
