This one's been a while in the making! A great excuse to use up that bag of sheepy tweed in your stash. It's an attention getting twist on the classic aran cabled cardigan. But not so different - it's still classic enough to be wearable with jeans and boots or a great fall skirt, bumming around town.
It's got a fitted shape, a short length, and a long, off-center tie to make it modern. And the deep collar, vertical cable motifs and body hugging wrap make it flattering.
Sizing comments: You can work the length as needed to hit your waist, and the wrap lets you bring things in as you need to just by tying. If you're unsure about your size, I recommend going smaller, as extra width will make the wrap flap open, but negative ease will only make the V stay a little more open. Also, I find these tweeds can block out bigger if needed.
It's best in a wooly yarn with a little body. Avoid very floppy or drapey fabrics which may not stay closed.
Sample is in Rowan Yorkshire Tweed.
