Diamonds in the Ropes Lace Shawl
This pattern was submitted to the Renaissance Dyeing contest and was the winning pattern for the lace pattern. Thank you Andie for your contest and for the prize! Please see her website for more about this pattern:
This pattern is for the more experienced knitter. This pattern is a completely graphed out lace pattern and is worked in the Orenburg style of lace shawls. Although it is knitted in a garter stitch (with the lace additions of yo, k2tog, k3tog, etc), it also uses short rows to create the corners and has a small grafting at the end to create a seamless edging all the way around the edge. It also requires the knitter to be able to keep track of a number of different patterns that are worked simultaneously.
