Description

Inspired by the work of influential designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, this bottom-up triangular shawl is worked flat, and all in one piece.

The single rose motif is set amongst clean lines, geometric patterns and large expanses of stockinette and garter stitch which will work beautifully with any subtly variegated laceweight yarn.

If you like the rose motif but would prefer a rectangular stole, you might want to look at my [Glasgow Rose stole][1] design.

Please note - due to the complex nature of this design, the pattern is offered in charted form only. All techniques and stitches are fully described in words but there are no row-by-row written directions, so chart-reading skills are required.

Tools required

  • 3.25 mm (US 3) needles (long circulars recommended)
  • Tapestry needle

Skills required
* Chart-reading (there are no row-by-row written instructions)
* Standard lace incs and decs, e.g. yo, ssk, k2tog, sl1k2psso
* Estonian-style increases, e.
