Haiku Slouchy Hat
"All Heaven and Earth
Flowered white obliterate...
Snow...unceasing snow" Haiku by Kajiwara Hashin.
Inspired by this winter poem...I designed Haiku, a slouchy hat pattern that also includes instructions for an ear warmer.
Knit with bulky yarn and large needles makes this a one day project, perfect for last minute Christmas gifts.
If you're using Cascade 128, the remaining 92m (100 yds.) after knitting your hat is enough to complete the matching Haiku Leg-Arm Warmers, sold separately. This pattern also includes instructions for a shorter Boot Cuff.
I've included some ideas above for alternative yarns for this project that should work very well.
The bind off I used for the ear warmer is Jeny’s Suprisingly Stretchy Bind Off.
