This hat is worked in Zitron luv & lee; the fire engine red of the yarn caught my attention and gave the hat its name of heatwave. It matches my Heatwave Mittens.
The hat is crocheted entirely in slip stitches in a textured wave pattern. It is worked sideways, with a gathered crown added at the end.
The pattern includes written instructions and an extensive technique section, with step-by-step photo tutorials for
- front loop only slip stitch
- back loop only slip stitch
- front loop slip stitch decreases
- invisible seam in back loop only ribbing
- invisible seam in flat ribbing
yarn: 80 g of Zitron luv & lee, 100 % Merino extrafine, colorway 315
hook: 5 mm (US size H)
other notions: darning needle for seaming
