Lása means “lace” in Gaelic.
I found a beautiful vintage lace pattern from a 1918 pattern book and rewrote it to create the lovely lace cuffs on these toe-up socks.
Knit toe to cuff; the lace cuffs are knit perpendicularly to the body of the sock. One stitch from the sock will be decreased away every other row of the cuff.
Note on blocking: the little points on the lace cuffs are a bit tricky to block. I had good results using my steam iron to gently press them out.
11/8/13: The lace cuff chart and written directions have been corrected and the pattern has been uploaded. If you purchased this pattern from Three Irish Girls, please PM me for the updated pattern
8/4/14: a couple of notes! The first round of the toe includes a M1L and M1R. You could do an increase of your choice (backward loop, kfb) if you find it hard to do that increase on the first round.
Also, the link for Judy's Magic Cast On isn't working in the PDF, sorry!
