Mustardseed is a wide, crescent shaped shawl with texture, lace and beading, knit in one piece from the top centre with increases at the edges only. The sister shawl to Thistledown, this too has a wonderfully addictive garter ridge pattern on the body with a deep border that provides a pretty, delicate edge and textural interest all ending with a very simple yet effective edging - picot free and garter stitch, does it get any easier?
The wonderful versatility of this shawl makes it possible to knit in almost any weight of yarn (though yardage and needle requirements will vary as this has been written for Fyberspates Faery Wings). It is easily made larger by repeating the main body sections and is simple enough for beginners to lace knitting, yet interesting enough for those with more experience.
The pattern is both written and fully charted with bead placement indicated throughout.
