Like all my fruit and vegetables, this onion is as realistic as possible. It is not just spherical but subtly shaped, and has a ragged top for a naturalistic look.
A quick pattern to work, using only basic stitches and very little finishing.
For an onion approximately 7cm in diameter you will need:
- double-knitting (DK, light worsted weight, Category 3) yarn in approximately the following quantities: Main colour: 28m Root colour: 1.5m
- a 3.5mm (E-4) crochet hook
- a stuffing material (details are provided in the pattern)
- a blunt yarn needle
- a ruler or tape measure
Available in both UK and US crochet terminology.
Important feature of my crochet patterns:
My patterns include both a detailed 'tutorial-style' set of instructions with colour photos, and a succinct unillustrated pattern using standard crochet conventions - the best of both worlds!
All my patterns come with full support! If you have any difficulties, please contact me.
