This is a lace summer beanie decorated with crochet flowers. The flowers are optional, even though they do add charm and grace to the hat. My suggestion is crocheted four-petalled flowers, but you can use any ornament you like, either flowers in different colours or buttons or whatever forms your imagination chooses. The crochet flowers are easy even for a beginner, there is a chart and stitch legend included.
The hat is worked in the round and uses some basic lace stitches: increases, decreases and yarnovers.
Gauge: there are two gauges as lace depends on the yarn used, and it may happen that right stockinette gauge will not get the required size. Be sure to get the lace gauge right. Stockinette gauge is 27 sts and 36 rows make 10x10cm (4x4inches).
Choose yarn that will make lace stand out. Solid colours are the best.
The pattern has been tech-edited and tested by several English speaking knitters.
