Penny Pig is a huggable squidgy knitted toy with a curly tail. This is a basic knitting pattern, ideal for beginner knitters or if you are new to making toys. The pattern includes row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the pig with 13 photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 5 pages and written in English. The basic knitting pattern only requires you to know these stitches: knit, purl, a kfb increase and k2tog decrease.
To make your pig you will need 3mm needles, approximately 100g double knit yarn and 100g stuffing. Penny Pig’s tail is made by knitting i-cord, and this uses two double pointed needles, plus a cleaner/chenille stem.
