    About

When I started knitting in November 2016, one of the first projects that caught my eye was curliwigg’s Summer Shawlette on Ravelry.com. I used her notes as a pattern guesstimate. I like the bubbly texture of the knitted yarn, so I added a cast-off that technically is a picot edging. The thick and thin yarn makes it look more like random bubbles coordinating with the lay of the shawlette. Because of the picot stitch, I ran out of yarn 8” from the end of casting off. So I used a section (pretty closely matching) from a different color way of the same yarn in order to finish. It worked out, and I am quite pleased with the results. It is so light, perfect for summer.

I also blocked the shawl after finishing it - using water spray and a little bit of steam.

Thank you for your kind comments. I am sorry I left off the needles -- knit on US 10.5 circular 32". There wasn't a pattern on ravelry.com. Curliwig listed casting on 3, knitting in garter and increasing at beginning and end of each row, knitting loosely. I guessed about using kfb for the increases. The yarn is very forgiving of beginning knitting, because of its unevenness, so I encourage you to make the jump. On ravelry, I am Alluvus. The directions are complete for what I did, but I am sure there can be endless variations.
      Happy knitting!

Thanks so much, Mary. I'll let you know how it goes. I ordered the same yarn but, in a lavender, white, pink color scheme. Can't wait.

@Bonnie G: Great! I look forward to seeing a picture. I fell in love with the yarn and searched for what others had made with it.

I love this so much but, I went on Ravelry and couldn't find this pattern. Are the directions you gave here complete? I am a crocheter however, I'm ready to jump into knitting to make this beauty. Thank you for your time.
