    About

The Onesie and teddy bear slippers look so cute I had to pair them with the cute hippo.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3) 25cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Holder
    • Buttons
    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stuffing

    Measurements

Notes: The onesie and slippers fit the hippo very well despite it being a little larger than the patterns 38cms. I only used two colours for the onesie instead of the three suggested and I added non-working buttons to the front just for interest and contrast.

Thanks Alison, I am told by my friend that Lucy loves her hippo but wears the slippers herself!

Hazel- Did you have a problem getting the head secure? I am making the dog, and his head feels kind of wobbly!- Teresa

I find that the head wobbles a bit on most of the animals I make! I try to really stuff the neck well or double sew the head. After the first 'round' of sewing I do it again but about a quarter of an inch out from the first round. It's a matter of getting your eye in. But anyway, your knitting will be loved anyway. I can't wait to see your hippo.

It was fun to knit and not as hard as I thought it might be Rosie, it was the slippers that I found tricky with the fluffy yarn. But I have to say that the result was worth it.
