    About

Morgan asked me to knit a third mermaid tail for Lilly in the same yarn as I did for the previous two. I really wanted to try something different but alas it was not to be so I put my stifled creativity into the embellishment.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Double Point 3.50mm (US 4) 15cm
    • Single Point 4.00mm (US 6) 25cm
    • Circular 6.00mm (US 10) 60cm
    • Double Point 6.00mm (US 10) 15cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
Other : Green felt for the seaweed plus sewing thread and needle for blanket stitching to tail. Sparkles on the shells and starfish came from a length of jewel rope which I snipped up and glued with fabric glue.

    Measurements

Notes: Child size - 30” waist & Approx 65” from waist to tip of tail but realistically about 35” of body, leg and feet room because of the tapering. Supposed to fit a child up to 10 years. The scallop shell pattern I got free from Lionbrand and I knitted the starfish freehand using I-cords for the legs.
