    About

I've gotten so much use from my previous burgundy poncho I decided to do one with stripes this time. Lots of stockinette stitch, but great for mindless car travel.

The poncho is knitted flat, though I used circular needles to accommodate the stitches. Essentially, you knit a a 26" x 72" (about) rectangle, block it, then fold and seam on one shoulder. Then optionally, you pick up stitches around the neck opening and knit in the round to create a cowl neck. I love these ponchos!

    Needles & Hooks

Notes: One size fits most. I added 20 stitches to make it a bit longer.

Love it. I just added the pattern to my favorites. I have been looking for a poncho pattern. Thanks for the information.

I love the design with stripes. I haven't made myself a poncho yet, but have been contemplating one. This one looks nice on, and seems easy enough to knit.
