    About

The pattern calls for DK yarn. I used this worsted yarn I had in my stash which is now discontinued. Using Cascade 220 superwash Merino would be a good choice. The Navy and Ruby booties were made with #6 needles for the boot and #4 needles for the ribbing. I wanted them to be a little bigger so I stretched the soles a bit when blocking.
The Walnut Heather/Natural pair were knit with size 8 and size 6 needles.
I love the look of a Cable Cast On for the booties, but it's not necessary. I seamed with the Bickford Stitch so I didn't have an annoying ridge on the inside of booties.

They came out great and were easy to make. Shay s mom loved them. They will keep his footsies warm on their spring walks when a snowsuit is not necessary.
