    About

I'm not a very experienced knitter so I like to look for projects that I can learn something new from. Knitting 'top down' is completely new for me and I love the circular knitting - as I've ruined previous projects with seams... . No seams here! I loved this pattern as soon as I saw it and stuck to the colours suggested as I think the 'little sailor' look is perfect for a baby boy! I love the yarn, it is lovely and soft and knits with great definition. Regrettably with a full time job, a fair drive from home, I don't get to knit as often as I would like to but I can't wait to see the finished product (and the look on my colleague's face when I give 'The Present'!). I've given myself a deadline of 2 more weeks to finish it. And I recall an article on the Loveknitting blog about how to connect a new ball of yarn, which I will look up as the knot I've made to join 2 yarns is pulling a bit and could peep through the front.

Notes: It's a work in progress and since I'm not an experienced knitter I diligently completed 2 gauges, 1 in garter stitch and 1 in stocking stitch as suggested in the pattern to match the size suggested in the pattern (as this is a gift I want it to be right first time rather than starting experimenting!)
