    About

New baby alert! Needed a cardigan urgently.
Couldn’t see anything I wanted to make in my pattern library (funnily enough, as it’s now 24 years since I made a baby cardigan, my baby garment library now looks rather dated!), so I decided to design a cardigan of my own.
I’m thrilled with this. It’s quick and easy to knit and classic looking but with modern styling, so the baby isn’t going to be swamped in a whole blanket of knitting which has taken time and effort to knit, but serves no actual purpose.
I’ll definitely make this again, it’s got everything I like for baby wearability.

Do you have right or wrong sides together when using the 3 needle cast off for shoulder seams

Right sides together (if not you’d have a raised seam on the right side of the finished garment).

Lucky baby!! You did a beautiful job with knitting and design. The seed stitch makes a lovely border instead of the usual ribbing. Impressive to finish in three days. You must have been on a roll and couldn't stop.

Thank you! It arrived safely yesterday and I believe she likes it ;-)
I forgot to say that the seed stitch borders are knitted at the same time as the fronts and not sewn on later, which saved lots of finishing time!
