    This PM is a Project Manager and colleague, and the surprise is a surprise to me not him. I've been working for almost 2 years on a project with this PM and found out only this week that he's imminently due to become a Daddy for the second time in a couple of weeks. Obviously too focussed on work to pay attention to such small matters. So a quick trip to local yarn supplier on my way home from the office and then out with the needles and knit, knit, knit.

    Update: Having used up the first ball of yarn, I noticed that the label on the second said 4ply, after checking the third ball and finding it the same, I found I'd been knitting this DK pattern with 4ply...that's what buying in a rush does. Anyway, despite this, the blanket looks fine, so I'll keep going in the 4ply and see how the finished result comes out.

    Update: Beautiful baby girl weighing in at 5lbs born on 21 February - congratulations to all - baby blanket on its way!
