    About

I've always shied away from top down, seamless sweaters, mostly because I find dpns really fiddly. But then I stumbled across an article about how to use two circular needles to work in the round with small stitch counts and that's opened a whole new world to me. I can see I'll be making more garments this way in the future!

    Pattern

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6) 80cm

    Accessories

    • Buttons
    • Stitch Holder
Other : For all sizes you'll need an extra circular needle or dpns for the sleeves, but should be able to work the body on a single circular needle. For the smallest sizes, you might find it easier to use dpns or two circulars for the body too.

Thank you Vix. If you search for the technique online there are lots of tutorials. It looks tricky when you watch the videos and read the instructions, but don't let that put you off. Once you try it 'for real' it suddenly makes sense. A good tip is to use needles from two different brands so that you don't muddle them up - you have to split your stitches evenly over two needles and each st should always be worked on the same needle it starts off on. Good luck - it's worth pursuing!
