A caterpillar design in stocking stitch became more complicated as I decided to vary stitches, to add texture and patterns for a baby to explore. I then added crinkle paper, a rattle and squeaker inserts before sewing up. At the last minute I decided to abandon the caterpillar and sew the first and last bobble together to make a ring shape. The intarsia spots were a bit tight and disappeared once the bobble was stuffed, so I stitched a cross over each one to enhance the pattern.
