    About

The pattern uses a 4 ply Luxury yarn, but whilst visiting the Bendigo Yarn shop, I noticed a display garment that had been knitted up in 4ply sock yarn, so decided that was a far prettier option. Garment is knitted in pieces to just above armholes then all pieces knitted on circular needle for yoke.

Let me know what the "not just socks" wool is like.
I hope you didn't get caught in all the flooding in Vienna, I have heard it is stunning there.
Well you are getting out and about, Broken Hill is beautiful so much history.

Yes will let you know how the Spotlight yarn knits up. No flooding or even rain during our stay - I think it was Venice, we were in Vienna in Austria.

I love this wool I didn't realise you could use sock wool for cardis, but it is beautiful.
I'm sorry to hear your family are staying in Vienna longer it is always hard when family live away. Maybe they will visit you this year.

Spotlight actually sell lovely sock yarn appropriately named 'Not Just Socks' I bought a ball the other day to try it out. - on more cardis of course! We have just returned from a month in Vienna, so I was able to take the girls lots of handknits. Currently on train to Broken Hill to visit son and family, so I am getting lots of knitting done.

Well the wee card I is just beautiful and the colours are perfect. What a lucky wee girl.i love shopping at the Bendigo mill but I also find it is hard to find suitable wool for toys in Australia.
I was just reading your comments and I didn't realise that you could switch between the UK site and Aus one.

Thanks for your comments . My friend in NZ sent me the photo last week of baby Hazel wearing the jacket, so it is nice to know it was appreciated. I find Bendigo yarn very affordable and good quality.

Thanks Alison, this was an enjoyable project and I have more sock yarn lined up to make another. So many patterns, so much yarn, but never enough hours in the day!

My girlfriend’s daughter has just given birth to her 2nd baby girl in Vancouver, so the jacket is now winging it’s way to the new littlie.

Seems I can only get to view UK site if I switch the country at bottom of page. This site does seem to be chaos of late, don’t know what’s happening. Re: yarn, yes I enjoyed knitting with it and have just ordered more sock yarn as well as other DK from BWM.

@Lyn R: Lyn I am wondering if maybe you were on the UK site when you posted this so that is why it went o page 3.
