My friends daughter is expecting her first baby she in May. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer in January and he is the main carer for my Mum who had a stroke two years ago. After much discussion he decided that at 88 the operation would give him a better quality of life for his remaining and more time with my Mum. Since my Mums stroke she is very confused and has poor memory. This blanket with its easy pattern has been my calming process while looking after my mum while my Dad has been in hospital. The pattern is easy to follow and I have been able to sit with her letting her talk even when the conversation was irritating by Its repetition and keep knitting and staying calm.
