Do you have a picture of what it looks like laying flat? I just purchased the pattern and was curious of what it should look like when finished.
      Thanks

Hi there. I'm sorry, I do not. It will be a large triangle when you are finished. I hope this helps. And thank you for your purchase. I hope this helps.

Hi! I'm itching to get started, but I don't see how many stitches or how long the first row is. What am I missing? (I'm sure it's me). Thank you

How long did it take you to finish this pattern? Wondering if I can finish it if I start today for a Sunday wedding?

Hello Lindsay. It's a pretty quick knit. Unfortunately, I usually have a few projects on the go at one time, so I don't know exactly how many hours it took me. It also depends on how quickly you knit. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone else who follows this thread did keep track of how many hours it took them to complete this project. Happy knitting!

Ive started working this pattern and i'm almst done with first color. my needles are 36", and it seems as though they may not be long enough to finish. anyone have same issue?

Hi Jennifer. The shawl will be wider than the needles and bunch towards the centre as you knit. The 36" should hold all your stitches. I hope this helps.

@Diana Poirier: Thank you, thats all i wanted to hear. didnt know if it would get too tight eventually and be difficult to finish. I'm a novice knitter so wasnt sure. Thanks for responding and sharing this pattern. :)

Actually 36" cable is a strain on your cable. I used a 40 and a 60 inch cable But you should be okay with a 60" cable I'm almost done and I'm working with a medium weight hyarn Redheart Ombre It's turning out beautiful, I'm almost done.

@Brenda D: Thank you for your input. I personally didn't have a problem with a 36" cable. It's really a personal choice as long as it's not shorter than 36". I'm glad you're enjoying creating your shawl.

@Brenda D:Thanks for all the input, its helpful. personally i dont like having strain when knitting so decided to purchase a 48" to help spread stitches out a little more.

Hello Penny. You need 3 balls of a medium weight yarn of approximately 365 yards each ball. A medium weight yarn is also called Aran weight, #4, or worsted weight. I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, let me know.

Hello Katie. The shawl is just a flat triangle but because it's so big, when I wear it, I just turn the edge over and make the collar. Super simple!! Happy knitting!

Hello Claudette. The shawl is a triangle so the narrow pieces on the end are just the 2 points of the triangle. I hope that makes sense! LOL! Happy knitting!

Thank you Diana, I am not clear on how you tie on the second and third colors . Also do you knit all the stitches and still yarn over because we only cast on three stitches
I love the pattern and do not want to make a mistake

Hello Claudette. It's not complicated. When you are coming to the end your first colour, at the end of the row, just tie your one yarn colour to the next and continue knitting. Make sure you tie on your next colour on the same side. And yes, knit all the stitches with a yarn over before the last stitch then knit the last stitch in every row. Happy Knitting!!

Hello! In all honesty, I don't know! LOL!! I had 3 balls of Main Street yarn and just knit until I was at the end of the 3 balls. It's a super easy pattern as you really don't need to be exact as to where you stop or what your gauge is. Because of this, it's a great pattern for beginners. I hope this helps and Happy Knitting!

Hi Patricia. Any Aran weight or worsted weight yarn will work. Really any yarn that calls for US size 8 needles (5mm) would work well. I hope this helps!

Hello Danielle. I actually used 2 different shades of grey - a dark grey and a tweed grey with an off white. The yarn and colours I used are noted just below the picture of the pattern. A lot of people have been asking which blues I used but the greys just have a bit of a blue undertone and all computer screens show colours a bit differently. I hope this helps! Happy knitting!!
