    About

Choose this little ballerina cardigan to make in preparation for the next baby girl to arrive. Wanted to make something, modern yet feminine and stylish. As tried and tested before Pat E's Buzybee Patterns are quick and easy to make. Clear easy to follow row by row pattern instructions, no special skills required for this little cardigan. Fun to make. The set in sleeves can be a bit fiddly and often don’t sit quite as neatly as a raglan. So can take some practice not sure i’ve completely mastered it yet. For neatness I grafted the stitches at the top of the neck together as with a sock toe.
The yarn I choose was a lovely soft merino wool. which I ordered on line from love knitting. The shade of pink when the yarn arrived was not quite as it had looked on the photos on the site, and not quite as dusky and delicate as i would have liked. Never the less a pretty little cardigan.

Hi Jean F. It's a lovely cardigan. But, truth be told. what landed me here was the yarn. I have used the Schachenmayr 120 yarn in the past, and was shopping the sale, and they are practically giving it away right now. Puderrosa is one of the colors I have my eye on. Anyway, after looking at your photos, it is exactly the shade of pink that I want. I know this was 3 years ago, but you were wondering how it washes and tumble dries. Great, is the answer. Doesn't shrink, doesn't pill, doesn't bunch up. Stays smooth and perfect.

Thank you Christine 😊. Good to know that the yarn washes and wears well. Does seem ages ago now, the cardies were presents for my daughters friend’s twins. Didn’t hear after wards but hopefully they had plenty of wear from them. Good to have a list of yarns that you can rely on. Thank you x

Beautifully knitted Jean. I'm sure the little baby will be so snuggly in it. I know what you mean by the Schachenmayr wool, as I bought it too and found it a bit stiffer than other brands. I will be curious if it stands for its machine washable and tumble dryable claims.

Thank you Beata, Pleased you like it. It’s a really easy and quick to knit. Don’t know how the wool washes, haven’t had any feed back on that. Fingers crossed it was ok.
