    In the meantime, this pair of fingerless mitts have thumbs as requested by our London commuter daughter.
    They apparently fit the bill perfectly, with the sensible hand length and clever thumb placement which means that both mittens are the same (so no need to work out which is the left hand and which is the right one) - ideal for a speedy exit such as happens occasionally...
