    About

I love intarsia and I love knitting in the round.

When I could not find an established way of combining the two with a perfect join, I did some experimenting and came up with a simple technique that gives a join that is indistinguishable from a normal intarsia join. I call it loop and drop.

I may not be the first to come up with it, but I have never found it referenced anywhere else.

I made a hat to illustrate to other intarsia fans how it is done. Detailed instructions for the method are given with the pattern.

My beanie is knitted in Rowan Lima which is sadly no longer available, however it will work in any Aran weight yarn with a tension of 20sts to 10cm.
