I wanted a new winter beanie and I had two lots of wool as leftovers. Cast on 100 stitches and ribbed for 5cm. I then stocking stitched until I was happy with the size on my head. Using a wool needle I pulled all the stitches through and pulled them tight. Using a 5mm crochet hook I chained the excess to add a tassel.
