I made this blanket whilst pregnant with my daughter- at the time we didn't know she was a girl so I liked the unisex colours and how cosy it looked.
It was my first "proper" crochet project as I'm an avid knitter, and this project is special to me as it converted me to crochet and now I can say I love crochet now just as much as I love knitting! I think crochet has a reputation for being old fashioned but thanks to Love Crochet I have found so many modern and vibrant patterns and techniques that dispel that myth.
I found the border worked better for me with a scalloped edge so that was my little take on adapting it. I found that taking time in the evenings to work on the blanket really helped me relax in the run up to the birth and gave me something positive to focus on.
I'm planning to make another one in slightly different colours for my friend who is due to have a baby in the summer. I can't wait to get started!
