    About

Lucy wears a hand-knitted cowl at all times, so I’ve almost always got a project on my needles for her. They are such a practical way of pretty-ing up a plain sweater and so cosy and comfortable for taking Percy out for a walk or sitting in her draughty office.
I couldn’t wait to try out The Yarn Collective’s new 4ply weight Fleurville and this cowl was a perfect projective to showcase the lovely stitch definition and drape of this gorgeous yarn. With such a pretty colour palette, and taking just one skein of yarn, I just know I’m going to be making more of these!

Hello Stella. This is beautiful. A friend has asked me to make her a cowl to wear tucked into her jacket. My concern with using wool is that it might be scratchy. Can you ask your daughter if she finds this to be the case. Thanks

Thank you, Cheryl-Ann, I really enjoyed designing this one and it is a very pretty cowl. The wool is not in the slightest bit scratches; it is pure merino with a smooth finish and feels almost like cotton in its drape and handle. I think you’d like it! Please don’t hesitate to get back to me if you need more advice, Stella

@Stella Ackroyd: Thank you Stella. I can't knit but I am going to try to create something similar to yours in crochet. I appreciate your feedback re the yarn. CA
