    About

I’ve got the chance to visit the most charming LYS (a repurposed cargo container shop filled with glorious yarn) I’ve ever set foot in during one of our trips & of course, hauled a whole lot of their irresistible cake yarn to make a blanket scarf - seeing that we travel very often, a good sturdy scarf that also functions as a mini blanket is a necessity (especially for early morning or night flights).

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 4.50mm (US 7) 60cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
Other : Circulars are for holding the amount of stitches though am actually knitting it flat & I'm using a size bigger needles than the ones recommended so I'd get a loftier & fluid fabric.

    Measurements

Notes: Didn't use a pattern for this because it's as easy as plain garter stitches, going on to increase only on one side until it reaches the length/width that I want & shall then decrease on the same side to make a complete triangle.

Isn't it? I've got plenty of store bought ones but haven't got any I've made myself (something utterly satisfying about wearing a piece you've made yourself, don't you think?) so this would be a fantastic start.

The cakes are DK on 4.00mm (100g & about 193m each) which I currently am on the second ball (using 4.50mm instead) - alternating to begin from the inner/outer end of each ball so the stripes wouldn't be too uniformed.

I reckon a total of 4 balls (2 each for every increase/decrease side) would make the size I have in mind. Are you thinking of making one yourself?

@Na Yeo: thank you for your very helpful reply, yes I'm definitely going to have a go making one, or maybe a few for friends too. I love the idea of alternating your start from the outer to the inner of the cake, very creative, and unique
My very best wishes to you
