    About

I love knitting baby blankets; it's so satisfying to know you're creating something that will be an heirloom for someone you love. That said, I am pretty picky about which pattern and accompanying yarn I select. The 2nd Time Cotton was perfect for Camilla. Because the yarn was finer (the original pattern called for aran), I ended up using more yardage than specified in the original pattern, and also changed the repeats and length to make a larger square blanket. It was fairly easy to alter.
As you can see from the photo, my furry child Catbert approves. Oh, and Bob and Kate liked it too. :-)

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 5.50mm (US 9)

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Markers

    Measurements

Notes: Second Time Cotton was a bit finer (worsted) than the yarn the designer suggested (Quince & Co. Osprey aran). I ended up using more yardage than specified in the original pattern, and changed the repeats and length to make a larger square blanket.
