    About

This Seed stitch poncho is knit using 2 strands of Aran weight yarn at one time making it super thick and cozy.

It's created by knitting 2 separate pieces and sewing them together, so a perfect pattern for a knitter looking to make their first garment.

Easy to customize by changing the colour band on the bottom or just knitting it in one solid colour.

I’m working on your back porch shawl now, and I’m thinking of doing this pattern next. Since I’m still pretty much a beginner , is this pattern easy to work up?

Hello. Yes I think it's rather easy. The stitch itself is simple and it's knit in 2 pieces and sewn together. The only thing that may be a challenge is the casting off of the body and the continuing knitting of the neck. I haven't had anyone thought yet ask me about this. There are pictures in the pattern to help you. You can also email me should you have any difficulties and I will try to walk you through them. Thank you for considering this pattern! I hope you love the shawl!!n

Would it be possible to show a picture on a model/ real person?

I clicked on this poncho before seeing your name. Then when I did, I thought, "Well, of course it would be from you." I'm recognizing your work. Does the collar involve picking up stitches? Thanks for showing me what slate grey and dark aubergine look like together! Very pretty and stunning design. Great for the cold weather that is coming.

Hello Milann. That is too funny! Gave me a giggle. There is no picking up stitches for the collar. You cast off stitches, leave some on the needle and then cast off the remainder of them. Then you continue knitting the collar. I hope that makes sense.

@Diana Poirier: To seam the two pieces, did you do a three needle cast off? I'm not crazy about seaming.

@Milann D: No. Just a regular cast off and then sewed the 2 pieces together. Nothing complicated.
