I wanted to make a cushion cover that would celebrate the Christmas season and give me a chance to practice slip stitch knitting. I couldn't find an actual pattern, so I searched google for charts of slipped stitch designs and found the diamond motif on knitca.com. From there, I ordered some colourful Hayfield yarn from Love Knitting, tried a sample swatch to determine guage, and then started knitting an 18x36 inch rectangle. When I got to the end, I still had red yarn left, so I continued the pattern in one colour, adding an i-cord edging and bindoff to finish it off. I'm quite pleased with the result, although I would like more rustic buttons. Now I just have to do another one for the other end of my daughter's couch. Next Christmas, lol:)
