    About

Well, once again, it’s the time of year all office workers dread: Secret Santa! Last year I was really lucky as I drew out the name of someone who has a ‘thing’ (i.e. an interest or hobby that’s knittable) and said thing was ice skating so I cobbled together an ice skater.

Alas, I wasn’t so lucky this year. Although I really like the person whose name I drew out of the hat, I couldn’t think what their ‘thing’ would be. So I decided to go with plan B, which was to make a selection of Christmas tree decorations. Unfortunately, I ran out of time, hence this solitary pud! To make it look a bit more special, I used sparkly wool for the holly berries and it worked a treat, even if I do say so myself!

(Eagle-eyed viewers will notice that, although the pattern specifically states to have the purl-side showing, I decided to stick with convention and put the ‘right’ side on show instead!)

I'll be honest - it doesn't taste quite the same as the real thing! ;-)

Thanks, Sheila! I'm a bit tempted to make another one for myself - why does that always happen with the things you give away?!
