    About

I had some sock yarn that I knew would be ideal for this scarf. It is a birthday present for my dear friend Gaye. I was in need of an easy project that didn’t need too much concentration. This is an excellent pattern, very simple, yet looks lovely with the lacy edge

I actually cannot knit with circular needles, I have to have my needle under my arm. Lol.
Well enjoy your time in Broken Hill, with your family, it will be lovely there with all the Christmas things on.
I'm trying to sew up Tayberry bear (my first one) but I do not enjoy sewing up so I'm looking at patterns, yarn etc as well. Maybe I should do scarfs not so much sewing up.hee hee.

Michelle, although you use circular needles for this scarf, you are still only knitting back and forth as with regular needles. It is because you end up with so many stitches as you gradually increase, that you need the circular needles to spread out all the stitches. I tried knitting with regular knitting needles again recently and just couldn’t the hang of them. I knit everything on circular needles now after treating myself to a box set of Knitpro circular needles last Xmas. I knew if I didn’t buy them, no one else would get them for me!

Wonderful trip & not a knitting needle in sight! Knitting yarn just seemed so cheap in Vienna compared to Aussie prices, but I resisted the urge to add to stash! Off to Broken Hill next month to visit son & family. Definitely taking knitting as it’s 12 hrs each way by train.
