    About

HOORAY - I have finally finished the Cosmic Cal which has been lurking in my craft cupboard. The final part has taken me forever. I have finished mine about 4 months after scheduled finish time and the heat of the summer was much to blame for that. I think I need to put it away now for awhile and then get it out again and appreciate all the hard work that has gone into it. I am just so happy I have finished it and thank you to Vix who has encouraged me to the bitter end

Absolutely stunning Sarah. It turned out totally gorgeous. You must be very pleased? I love Helen's designs. I'm working on the Sacred Space just now. My second ever big project was Mandala Madness. I still love that one!

I did enjoy doing it especially once is was finished and the real clincher for me was Helen's great video that gently took you by the hand and guided you through

This is amazing, absolutely stunning. I don't think my self taught skill level would stretch to something as intricate as this. Well done!

Hi Sue I am self taught too so it is surprizing what you can be capable of! The accompanying videos were a great help but every time I started a new row I thought I would never get through it. Definitely tested my skills and would not want to revisit this blanket :)

Wow this is stunning. Well done you. Iā€™m sure after some time out you will love every inch of the design and can then say proudly - I did it!!!

Thank you Claire I am pretty proud, this project certainly stretched my self taught crochet skills and almost every row I thought I would not be able to do it but I got through and I don't hate it that much :)

It was my pleasure! Thanks for your encouragement also. I can't even bear to look at mine now šŸ˜‚. I much prefer your more harmonious colours. I might give mine to one of my granddaughters whether they want it or not. I will use emotional blackmail. It has been alot of fun with alot of laughs so keep in touch. X

Yes it has all been an experience and good to share with like minded people will certainly think twice before considering something this big or complex again although I have Persian Tiles lurking somewhere, now where was that list !

@Sarah T: I have Persian tiles in a box under my chair! It is part done but because it is in separate squares does not seem a big project. I do 4 at a time so you get into the rhythm of the rounds. The stitches aren't as complicated either. Tbh I loved the complexity of it and thanks to Linda who introduced me to Pondoland, Amanzi and Karoo I will tackle Karoo once we have moved and I have my stash back...... Meanwhile I am knitting!

@Vix: I have looked at the Persian tiles and it did seem to be more manageable but still think I will leave it awhile going to spend at bit of quality time with my "virus"

@Sarah T: I have got a virus shawl on the go in Spirit yarn in blue shades. I have also got Spirit in pinks which will do for my son's gf for Xmas (the last one nearly got one but they finished just before Xmas so gave it to a friend instead)
