For the stockinette portions of the body, I used US #7 needles. For the lace section of the body, I used US #5 needles. Several Ravelers said the sleeves were too large, so I used “bmccuskey”’s strategy of switching to US #6 needles for the sleeves and “knittybarb”’s strategy of decreasing 2 stitches every 7 rows instead of the pattern’s direction of decreasing sleeves every 10 rows.
I also picked up “bmccuskey”’s idea of changing needles on the sleeves to US #4 for a lace pattern (at the height where the lace began on the body). I did the lace pattern 4 times on the sleeves and switched back to US #6 needles to finish.
I finished both the body and the sleeves with 6 rows of seed stitch. In the button band, I knit 10 buttonholes.
I love the shape of the sweater, with the lace nipping in the waist. The silk-merino blend yarn has a beautiful sheen and is easy to knit, stretchy and responsive.
