I really don't enjoy doing dishes but I hate them growing in the sink waiting, so I always kept a kitchen towel by the side of the sink to drain washed dishes! I contantly washed multiple hand towels a day.
I was playing around with different stitches using Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn when I first purchased it and really liked the great texture that resulted from a simple C2C stitch - and presto! I had a great looking drainer to replace the hand towel next to the sink. It absorbed water wonderfully and looked great hung over the towel rack to dry. Washing machine/dryer or line dry - easy ! Friends, neighbors and family saw and loved them. Before I knew it, people wanted to buy them from me.
A fun and very functional project. Simple to make in a variety of colors and they can be used for lots of purposes. But for me, I am grateful there is no more wet hand towel by the side of the sink to deal with.
