Not wanting the traditional girlie pink blankets for my first granddaughters, I thought about my first Doctor. Inspired by the scarf worn by Doctor Who (Tom Baker, fourth season), I created these blankets. Using the original scarf pattern for colors and stripe pattern, I made each row half of the original. Instead of a 7 foot scarf, I will have a 3-1/2 foot blanket.
Knit in seed stitch to give the blanket softness, there are tails to sew in with each color change. This is time consuming, but worth the effort. I love the color combinations, and so does my daughter.
