    About

I bought the yarn because 1) It was on sale and 2) I was curious about the fiber blend of wool, cotton and llama. It is very interesting yarn. I love the Fledgling color with the cream and blue tweed flecks. There are also some longish dark, coarse fibers which I'm guessing are the llama. (See 4th photo.) It's not scratchy, but it's not soft either, so I decided to make a double brim hat with Jil Eaton Minnow Merino as the underside of the brim. Minnow Merino is the softest yarn I have ever used. No pattern was used. It's all K2, P2 ribbing except for one row of solid knit before switching from tweed to white. This makes the brim want to fold. CO 100. The tweed yarn is easy to work with until you drop a stitch. This yarn is really anxious to unravel (due to lack of stretchiness - cotton content), and the tweediness makes a visual challenge for my aging eyes when fixing mistakes. I think this yarn would make a good vest, maybe with leather buttons.
