    About

I was not going to start any new projects this month as I have designated January UFO Month. My plan is to finish all the knitting UFOs I have started. I will keep it a secrete, even from myself, how many there actually are in my project bags. My very good friend has her own alpacas and spun her own yarn this winter. I just could not resist the beautiful yarn and started this project. My first Drachenfels shawl by Melanie Berg was completed using sport weight yarn and came out beautiful but my alpaca yarn is close to a bulky weight, I believe, so I will have to modify the pattern some due to the weight of this yarn. We will see how it goes, I hope I can do the pattern justice with this gorgeous yarn! Completed today, Yeh, I basically had to delete rows from the Drachenfels pattern to allow for the bulky weight yarn and the lack of anymore yarn being spun from my friends three alpacas this year. So warm!

Your shawl is beautiful! The alpacas seem so full if personality, but the stars of the show are your fur baby and your shawl! The colors are amazing! Please tell me the pink is dyed...at first I thought all the colors were natural, until I looked closer and saw the pink. But you never know these days.
I don't normally wear brown, but I would wear your beautiful Shawl! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thank you! The alpacas are like children to my friend who owns them. I share the love with her of Alfie, Rocky and Cleo (their names). It is so funny to work with yarn made from their wool. I think of them with every stitch.
