Thank you so much. I will do my best to explain the 2 3rd rows. Once you complete the increase the next row is 1 then next row 2 . On next row make increase. Then count next row as 1, then 2 next row increase. Let me know if I have helped or confused you. I used the counter in the pattern program which was very helpful.

No, it was helpful, thank you! If you'll indulge me, I wrote out the section and maybe you could tell me if I'm right.

        I'm knitting newborn size.

        Cast on 12 sts
        Knit 1 row
PFB; purl to end of row
        Knit to last st; KFB
Repeat these two rows 3 times.
PFB; purl to end of row
        (21 stitches)

KFB, knit to last st, KFB
        PFB, purl to end
        KFB, knit to end

That brings me to 25 stitches, but nowhere near the row count.

Sorry, I guess I'm still a bit confused!

@Gale B: You're a life saver! I'm knitting this as a baptism cover for my new baby girl. She's due in November and will be baptized at Christmas. I truly appreciate your help so I'm able to do this for her. Thank you, so much!

@Alex M: I am so glad you will be able to offer her not only a beautiful jacket but a very special heirloom. Can't wait to see your finished project. As a suggestion just reverse the front and back stitches for the other side. Kindest regards, Gale

@Alex M: just thought of something. I did not do the pattern edging. I really wasn't pleased with how it looked. Also it seem that the crochet instructions for the edging are European so dc is sc in US terms. Let me know if you need any help at that point.

@Gale B: Thanks so much for the hints! I've never actually done any crochet before, so I wasn't sure on what to do for the trim just yet anyway. Might have to outsource that part to a friend if my practice and YouTube research doesn't work out. :) I'll update you once I get to that point! Thanks, so much, again.

Hi! Beautiful job on the sweater! I just cast this on yesterday. It's my first time knitting a proper garment, and I'm a bit confused on the left front instruction. I've finished the 8 row increase, and then it says "then on 2 foll 3rd rows...." and I'm not sure what that means. Could you clarify for me? Thanks!
