    I'd knitted my daughter a scarf as my first attempt at knitting properly in about 30 years, my daughter loved it and my granddaughter was grumpy because I hadn't made her one. I was happy to oblige. Easy peasy garter stitch scarf, had it done within a week. I made it slightly wider than the pattern suggested, at 36 stitches on 5.5mm needles. It's 36 inches long, not including pompoms. My granddaughter is 5, and I didn't want her tripping over it.
