    About

I have had this pattern for a while, but was intimidated by the hood. Well, feather and fan is so easy. It's a well-written and fun pattern. Isn't it cute the way the feather and fan just naturally makes the hood come to a little elfin point at the top. I used 3-needle bind off on the hood for the first time, and this was also easy. Millamia Naturally Soft Aran is wonderfully soft and machine washable. It is tightly spun and dense, and doesn't seem like aran weight at first, but it does behave heavier than worsted when knitted up.

I love this wee hoodie you have made, the body of it is so modern looking and then you have the feather and fan pattern. It is beautifully knitted.

Thank you, Michelle. I will be making this again per a recent request from my daughter-in-law whose cousin is expecting a baby girl in July. My DIL will be sending the yarn - I hope she gets MillaMia Naturally Soft Aran, as I think it is perfect for this pattern. Squishy and soft. Schachenmeyr Merino Extrafine 85 would also be terrific.

Ahhh, I see now how it goes up and over...that is a great design feature. Also, your matching the size of the button band with the bottom band is a really great idea..good decision. Sweet little sweater.

Very nice! I would be more intimidated with adding a front button band but you did that perfectly. Also the hood was perfect.

Thank you, Gayle. In my opinion it is the button band (that goes right up and over the hood and back down again) that makes this pattern work so nicely. I made the button band a little wider than the pattern called for because I liked it so much.
