    About

    It's a miracle but I've made it..!

There was a misprint on Row 39 of the original printed pattern - Stylecraft put an erratum up on their website, but unless you happened to be looking there...

What could I say??? I printed their erratum sheet and took it to my local knitting shop, so at least other customers won't have the same problem.

I looked at all that work, and thought hard, and realised that if I left it as it was I'd have put weeks of toil into this project and never be happy with the result. So I started again. Sob!

This time I charted it; and charting is not as hard as you think. Get some good quality squared paper, and a good sharp pencil, and do your own key of symbols, and pace yourself, and you'll soon get the hang of it. There are programs online but being a bit of a plodder I found it easier to do it on paper - it's that thing of being able to keep your finger on the square while your eyes are checking the text you're copying.

Hi Michelle, I did see it on loveknitting under a different name, have you tried searching under Blankets? I'll have a look and see if I can find it again. Otherwise, try Stylecraft direct maybe?

        Hi Suzie,
thank you, I found it and it was under another name.
I look forward to making it and thanks for the tip on the pattern lining up, I will be sure to keep an eye on it.

"Sea of Dreams", that's the one. If you go to Patterns - Blankets - then check the 4-ply option it pops up quite quickly. Do look carefully through the instructions and make sure the pattern lines up (I had to chart it in the end). Good luck!

Hmm. Looking more closely, Sea of Dreams has a more ornate border than the Stylecraft rose trellis version - more interesting, too.

      :O !!!

After I contacted them with a query, Stylecraft have just kindly sent me an amendment - if anyone else is doing pattern no. 9392 there's a mistake on Row 39!

Which explains at least quite a lot. Da capo..???????

None too soon, I'm trying to chart it - I can't take another getting to the end of the alternate purl row and finding I've got 1-4 stitches too many and not being able to find where they've sprung from, aaaarrggghh! This may be the wonkiest trellis of all time... :(

Thank you all so much for your encouragement and compliments!
