    About

I saw the pattern for the Flurry Sweater and really liked the two-tone block design overlayed with a row of snowflakes. The pattern is for an adult crew neck, but I made a child's Henley top down seamless. Used Knitpicks Swish DK in colors Allspice, Delft Heather and White. Working the snowflakes in the round on the sleeves was kind of tricky. I had difficulty maintaining proper tension, but I did better on sleeve #2. When knitting the sleeve fair isle, I crossed the 2 colors of yarn over every 1 or 2 stitches, so little fingers would not get snagged. I'm not a fan of orange, but the Allspice color is deeply saturated and just a superbly intense shade. The sweater turned out warm and cozy. The merino yarn is soft and squishy. My college colors were orange and blue, so I daydreamed about college (50+ years ago) while knitting. Absurdly, I still know the entire football fight song, but did not sing it out loud.

Thank you, Alison. The snowflakes tested the limits of my patience and concentration.
