Well I've been on eBay and ordered the hat pins, for if I ever need them.
Woo hoo that makes me feel good ,I thought I was the only one who made things and wasn't happy with the way I had finished it or the yarn etc. But as you said at least we are trying and we learn for next time, have a lovely day.

I will have a look for hat pins at the salvation shops or maybe on eBay, Thank you Christine. All the wee tricks you learn from other people all help and I love seeing what other people make it just inspires me to try other things. Some work out and some don't but it's fun trying new things.

I have a carrier bag full of the ones that didn't work out, eventually I get another idea or I pull back and use the yarn for something else. I agree it's a lot of fun trying.

Thank you for advising me how to do the hats Christine, I use the knitting needles to hold the head in place like Pat says but would have been trying to keep the hats in place with normal pins.😊

Hi Michelle, I agree the hats can be tricky as the knitting needles are too thick, I have some old fashioned hat pins that do the trick, you can find them here in charity shops and car boot sales do you have similar where you are?

Hi Michelle, I use children's or short size fine knitting needles and pierce through from the top of the head all the way through the body then stitch all the way round. Pat's (gypsycream) patterns recommends doing that and It does hold the head steady. Hope you're enjoying the 30 plus temps we can match the first number just not the last.😁
