    About

I love this pattern’s design by Melanie Rice. I have only been knitting since November 1, 2016, and I am really pleased with the results. I had to correct a lot of mistakes with my crochet hook as I went along, but the design is not only beautiful but also easier to see than other patterns I have tried. The pattern recommended US#7 needles, but my gauge did not look or feel soft or pretty. Probably I knit tighter than the author. My gauge with US#9 needles came out better, so that is what I went with. This pattern used up almost all of the yarn, so I had to frog the gauges and use the yarn in the cowl. I am very pleased with the cowl; it is soft and cozy and has versatile looks with full-length and various twists for twice-wrapped

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 9.00mm (US 13) 80cm
    • Crochet Hook 3.25mm (US 3)
Other : Tapestry needle for sewing the flat knitted cowl into a circle, and for weaving in ends.

    Measurements

    45" circumference x 8"

Notes: I changed from the #7 needles to #9 US, maybe because my knitting is tighter than the author's. The yarn label recommended #9 US needles, and they preserved the softness and fuzziness of the yarn
